About Me

Hi, my name is Dane Harrigan and here is a little bit I’ve written to introduce myself.

I am a Developer

Developer, programmer, coder, whatever you’d like to call it. I build. I am fascinated by all things technology - software and hardware. I am equally fascinated by user experience and the usability of applications and products. Simple and elegant solutions excite me.

I Do Stuff Too

Knowing stuff. creating stuff and improving stuff - I can’t do it enough. I don’t just code though. I’m a casual gamer, occasional popper/hip hop dancer, and an aspiring musician. If I’m not working I’m most likely whipping up something in Ruby on Rails, Prototype or jQuery.

What I Do

I work for a great company in northern Virginia called Incapsulate. We do all kinds of commercial and government IT consulting. I’m one of Incapsulate’s Ruby Developers and it’s fun. I work with the rest of the team to produce excellent products, train in areas like application testing (Test::Unit, Shoulda, RSpec and Cucumber), front-end development (HTML5 and jQuery) and user experience principles.

I’m also an okay guy, but don’t take my word for it ask my friend Pasha, Paul or even Zappos!
